Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies Scholarships
QIBT is pleased to announce that it will offer 10 scholarships for the Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies during 2011. Scholarships will be awarded first semester of study of the Diploma (second program), once the student has successfully completed the Foundation program at QIBT.
The QIBT university foundation program provides a bridge between secondary school and undergraduate studies, and prepares students for entry into most Griffith University level programs for example; Commerce, Design, Information Technology, Hotel Management, Engineering, Health, Science, Arts and Education fields.

How to apply
Step 1: Apply to QIBT through your education agent or direct to QIBT* (if you are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident) for the Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies at QIBT, starting in either June or October 2011. Student must meet all English and Academic entry requirements to the Foundation program, and be issued with a QIBT packaged offer to be eligible for the scholarship. In addition to your application student must submit a one page essay explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship.
Students with a packaged MEAP and Foundation offer, who begin their studies in either June or October 2011 will be considered eligible for a scholarship.
Step 2: QIBT will assess your application and issue you with a Letter of Offer (if deemed eligible) and confirm scholarship award deadlines.
Step 3: If successful, QIBT will issue a scholarship letter to your agent or to you directly (for Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents).

Why study the Certificate IV?
This program prepares students for entry into the full range of QIBT Diploma programs or the first year of a Griffith University Bachelor degree. When you successfully complete the foundation program, you may choose to start any of the QIBT Diploma programs. This will give you 80 credit points for entry to the second year of the relevant Bachelor degree program at Griffith University.

Terms and conditions
To be considered for a Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies scholarship, students need to:
• submit their full application, and meet academic and English entry requirements
• be made a packaged offer by QIBT (QIBT Foundation to Diploma to Griffith University degree) for a June 2011 or October 2011 commencement
• start their Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies in June 2011 or October 2011 – not transferable

Scholarships are non transferable to Griffith University and will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, financial need and the student’s essay, at the discretion of QIBT. The value of each scholarship will equate to 25% of the overall cost of the related packaged Diploma (only).
